IF YOU ARE ASSIGNED AMERIHEALTH CARITAS AS YOUR MANAGED CARE ORGANIZATION (MCO), THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION REQUIRES YOUR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION!

Council Bluffs | November 1, 2017 — Effective November 30, 2017, AmeriHealth Caritas will no longer provide coverage for IA Health Link members. All of that company’s existing Medicaid members will be assigned to one of the other two existing MCOs.

If you are currently receiving coverage from AmeriHealth Caritas, Starting December 1, 2017, Vodec will require “authorization to continue providing services” from the new MCO.

Here’s what you should expect to happen between now and then…

You will receive a letter from Iowa Healthlink assigning you to one of the remaining MCOs, either United Health Care or Amerigroup in the next 14 days. IF YOU DO NOT, contact your current case manager.

Within 15 minutes of receiving that letter, contact your new MCO and communicate that you need an authorization to continue services. Failure to do so could mean that your Vodec services will be suspended.

This is an unexpected and rapid change for case managers, service providers, consumers and guardians. We are all going to have to work together to make it as seamless and painless as possible. Vodec will be diligent in our efforts to communicate relevant information to you as quickly as we can during this transition. We will use three primary methods:

1- our website, www.vodec.org
2 – our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/vodecinc/
3 – text messages to cell phones

If you are a cell phone user, it is important that we have a valid number to send you updates. Please ensure Vodec has yours by leaving a voicemail at (712) 328-2638 ext 105. Make sure to include the consumer’s name, and repeat the number at least twice.

If you are a Facebook user, please make sure you have “liked” our page so you will be notified when we post new information.

You can access vodec.org from a cell phone, tablet, laptop or desktop for the latest information.

If you have questions about your MCO assignment, services or benefits please contact a case manager at your new MCO.

Vodec will update this information as soon as additional instructions are made public. Feel free to post any questions in the comment section below, Vodec will respond as appropriate.
